Williams Unified School District is pleased to welcome to our district, Dr. Edgar Lampkin, Superintendent!

Dr. Lampkin is a former Migrant education student whose parents worked in agriculture. As a 4th grade student he read almost the entire school library collection outside of the resource books. He triumphed over early life difficulties and poverty to build a successful 28 year career in education. He has been a teacher's aide, bilingual teacher, school principal, and a district and county office administrator in Oregon and California.

In addition, he has extensive international consulting experience which focuses on issues of equity, social justice, and quality educational practice and educational leadership in PK-12. His expertise in effective curriculum design, instruction, and leadership has led to consulting for Susan Kovalik and Associates, International Center for Leadership in Education, Scholastic Partners, and Synectic Education.

His experience in professional development training has taken him from the United States to Mexico, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asian countries. His repertoire includes presentations on Brain-Based learning, Integrated Thematic Instruction, Cross-Cultural Awareness, Diversity, Self Esteem, Leadership, Decision Making, Conflict Management, Educational Administration and Education for Social Justice.

We are happy to have him join our district and excited for what this next year will bring!

Colusa County Office of Education will soon be providing Footsteps2Brilliance®, a comprehensive literacy app, to the parents of all pre-K thru 2nd grade children who live in Colusa County, CA. This engaging app will help you prepare your child for school.

Within 30 days, Footsteps2Brilliance users have shown measurable results in vocabulary acquisition, critical thinking, and comprehension. A third party study showed that students who used Footsteps2Brilliance gained 7 months of vocabulary acquisition on the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test in just 1 month. That is almost an entire year’s worth of academic progress.
